Launched yesterday, The Sugar Deli is a new website where you can buy a range of freshly
baked desserts and have them delivered on-demand to your front door.
Based in Kingston, this self-titled ‘digital dessert parlour’ is an online platform that allows
customers to purchase from a unique selection of sweet treats and have them delivered
that very same day to their home, office or as a gift.
A box of treats was delivered to my work yesterday afternoon and 95% of the treats were gone within seconds after I cut them up into shareable bites.
- Can you Knot ($4.40) - a white chocolate, caramel and pretzel cookie,
- Lord Lamington ($6.60) - Australia's love child with a raspberry and white chocolate twist
- Have a Break ($4.40) - a mouth watering Kit Kat Cheesecake
- Starboy ($6.60) - a nutella-filled doughnut, dusted with cinnamon sugar
- Is Splice is Nice - a Splice ice cream in cupcake form
My favourite by far was the Splice cupcake. There's an unexpected splice curd filling that oozes out when you take a bite. And the frosting/curd to cake ratio was perfect. I would gladly pay the $8 delivery fee for more of those.
There are 6 menu items and the menu will change weekly. As of writing, the Mallow Dramatic (a fluffy marshmallow-filled waffle cone with a candy-filled centre) was already sold out!
Future treats will include Twinkie Candy Dogs, Marshmallow Sandwiches, Caramel & White Chocolate Pretzel Cookies, and Nutella Pop Tarts.
How it works
Customers order their selection of sweets via thesugardeli.com.au. There's a minimum order of four treats.
The Sugar Deli opens from 9am–9pm, Monday–Friday and deliver between the hours of 10am – 9pm. For standard delivery ($8), you are given the option to select your delivery time slot upon checkout. You can also opt for on demand delivery ($16). There is no option to pick up :(
They deliver to all suburbs in Canberra, including Hall. They also deliver to Queanbeyan and Googong but not to the following areas:
The box of treats was provided complimentary to The Food Avenue. All opinions remain our own.
Have you had a delivery from The Sugar Deli? I would love to hear what you thought of their treats! Also, what kind of treats would you want to see available to order??
